Schoolfriends Rhian Owen and Rhian Williams launched Siwgr a Sbeis in February 1989, the same year they became Welsh Livewire champions and received their award from Sir Richard Branson.

The business began baking and selling a range of delicious cakes from a shop in Llanrwst with a workforce of only three.

Today the business is located in a modern 5,000 sq ft bakery in Llanrwst, and makes a wide range of award-winning cakes, desserts and savoury quiches for customers across Wales and the Marches.

The two Rhians constantly consult their old recipe books and inject a modern twist to produce innovative, mouthwatering products many of which have won Great Taste gold awards – the Oscars of the food world.

Siwgr a Sbeis products, which are easy to spot in their distinctive sepia tone packaging, can be found in stores, hotels, cafes, restaurants and garden centres.
